The 30mm Waterproof Laminated Padlock is the smallest in the range and it earns its place on weather resistance, not brute strength. The body is laminated steel — layer after layer of plate rather than a single casting, so there is nothing to crack under a hammer — and the whole body is sealed inside an over-moulded thermoplastic case. The case is moulded onto the lock rather than slipped over it, so there is no edge to lift, peel or prise off. A rubber waterproof ring seals the keyway and a solid brass all-copper lock core sits behind it, so it keeps turning through a wet winter where a cheap hardware-shop padlock rusts shut in a season.

Be realistic about what it is: at 32mm across with a Ø4.5mm shackle, this is a light-duty lock. It is the right choice for a meter box, a garden gate latch, a chook pen, a tool box, a locker or a small shed — somewhere you need a weatherproof lock that will still open next year. If you are securing a yard gate, a container or a trailer, step up to the 50mm or 65mm sizes with a Ø11mm shackle.
