Which one do you need?

1. Patio Bolt Locks — 304 stainless, keyed alike

A standard sliding door lock secures one point on the door — the centre lock. That’s it. A determined break-in attempt levering the door from the bottom corner will lift the door off the track and pop the centre lock right out of its strike. A patio bolt fits at the bottom of the door, drops a steel pin into a hole in the track, and stops that lifting motion completely. It’s the cheapest second-point security upgrade you can make on any sliding patio door.

How many do you need?

One per sliding door. Most homes need two or three: front patio, back patio, plus a courtyard or balcony. Every multi-pack is keyed alike to a single key — one key opens every patio bolt in the order. Tiered pricing applies: the per-unit cost drops sharply on the twin and triple packs.

Why 304 stainless steel matters

Patio bolts live at floor level on doors that face directly onto the elements. The bolt drops into a hole in the track which collects water, leaves and dirt. A standard zinc-plated bolt corrodes in 2–3 years on exposed doors and seizes inside the housing. TradeBase patio bolts are 304 marine-grade stainless steel — the same grade used on coastal hardware. They don’t seize, don’t streak rust down the door, and don’t fail in the salt-spray zones where standard bolts give up.

Patio bolt brand compatibility

TradeBase patio bolts fit any standard Australian sliding patio door — the bolt body screws to the inside face of the door at floor level and the strike is a small hole drilled in the track. Patio bolt vs mini push-bolt — quick reference

Installation

Patio bolt: 15-minute job per door with a Phillips-head screwdriver and a 6 mm masonry/metal drill bit. Screw the bolt body to the inside of the door near the bottom corner. Slide the door closed, mark where the bolt drops, drill a hole in the track. Test by raising and lowering the bolt with the key.

Mini push-bolt: 5-minute job. Two screws on the door/window, two screws on the strike plate at the frame. Test by closing the door and turning the key.
