Description

Aluminium Beading for Fixing Security Mesh – 3 Metre Length, for 2.0mm DVA Sheet

The aluminium beading that fixes 2.0mm DVA one-way security sheet into the frame channel. DVA sheet is also called restricted vision or RV sheet in the trade – same product, same beading. Depending on who taught you, the part itself is beading, mesh bead, security screen wedge or retaining wedge. It seats in the channel behind the sheet and clamps the panel against the frame.

Check You Have the Right Beading

This beading suits the 2.0mm DVA / RV sheet in a standard 70mm door frame. Our 1.8mm perforated aluminium sheet takes a different beading, sold separately. The two are not interchangeable – beading sized for the thinner sheet will not retain the 2.0mm properly, and one sized for 2.0mm will not seat in a channel packed for 1.8mm. If your frame is not a standard 70mm section, measure the channel before ordering and send us the dimension.

Fixing – Read This Before You Order

This beading is not a press fit. It seats in the channel and is then screwed or riveted into place. That mechanical fixing is what holds the sheet under load – a wedge pushed in and left unfixed is not a security fixing, and it is the difference between a panel that stays in the frame and one that does not. Order your screws or rivets at the same time; running out of them halfway through a job stops the job.

Not to Be Confused with Flyscreen Spline

Flyscreen mesh is held in with spline – a soft foam cord rolled into the channel, no fixings. Security mesh is not splined. This is a rigid aluminium beading that gets mechanically fixed, and that difference is the whole point of a security screen.

How Many You Need

Allow enough length to run the full perimeter of each panel. A 900 x 2000mm screen has a perimeter of 5.8 metres, so two 3 metre lengths will cover one panel with a little to spare. Always order a spare length – offcuts at corners add up quickly across a job.

Pickup and Delivery

Available for pickup from our Sunshine West VIC warehouse with 24 hours notice, or delivered Australia wide. At 3 metres these lengths are over the limit for standard couriers, so they travel on our oversize length service – freight is quoted rather than charged at the standard rate.
