A swing bolt lock throws a hooked or straight bolt that swings out of the lock body rather than sliding. It is common on commercial aluminium doors. The SB22 has a 22 mm short throw, the SB37 a 37 mm long throw and the SB29 a 29 mm hook throw that engages a spring-loaded strike box.

The SB29 hook throw lock engages a spring-loaded striker box mounted in the frame, which the hook catches as the bolt swings out. The SB29 lock set already includes a strike box.
