Narrow Stile External Plate – Plain – No Lever – Suits NL Mortice Locks – Satin Chrome

A narrow stile lock is a mortice lock with a short backset, made to fit inside the slim aluminium stile of a shopfront or commercial door. The NL23 body has a 23 mm backset and the NL28 a 28 mm backset. Both take an oval cylinder and pair with the NL narrow plates and levers in this range.

Measure the backset of the lock you are replacing: the distance from the face of the faceplate to the centre of the cylinder hole. A 23 mm backset takes the NL23 and a 28 mm backset takes the NL28. The NL plates, levers and escutcheons in this range suit both bodies.

The number describes what sits on each side of the door. -1 has a cylinder outside and inside. -2 has a cylinder outside and a plain plate inside. -3 has a cylinder outside and a snib inside. -4 has a key-retract cylinder plate outside and no lever inside. -5 is a passage set with no cylinders, so it never locks.
